Nepenthes singalana x lowii BE-4080
Nepenthes singalana x lowii BE-4080
Description
Nepenthes singalana x lowii BE-4080 in our opinion is a must have to any collection. Both parent species are known to make great hybrids. The particular female N. singalana used in this hybrid has a superior coloration. The male parent N. lowii Trus Mardi is the specimen that has travelled with Borneo Exotics around the world for exhibitions such as the RHS Chelsea Flower show, Singapore and elsewhere.
This cross is expected to produce tough and long-lasting pitchers, probably with nectar exudate under the lids. At the time of writing (Oct 2021), there were only very juvenile plants as the photos show. It’s clear that the lower pitchers will be richly coloured. It’s the upper pitchers we all want so see though, as they should be fascinating.
