Nepenthes burkei x veitchii BE-4608

The female parent is one of the best candy-stripe N. veitchii and the characteristics are clearly visible in this cross. As with N. veitchii, the coloration is most vivid just after the pitcher has opened and as the pitcher ages, the pitcher will darken and the stripes will fade. The photos are all from the same plant and clearly show this, as they are all of pitchers on the same plant. To us, we feel that newly opened pitchers are similar to those of N. veitchii and as the pitchers age, they look a lot more like N. burkei.

Type: Highland

Water: rain water, distilled water or RO water, tap water in some regions

Light: bright, indirect light

Humidity: High humidity preferred
